Dresses to Consider

Posted on

Planning to wear a dress for your photoshoot? Below is my curated “Look Book”, featuring a selection of dresses I believe will complement your session with me. I’ve included options across a wide price range and styles designed to flatter a variety of body types. Some embrace current trends, while others exude a timeless elegance. You’ll notice a neutral and earthy palette—hues that harmonize best with my editing style. Of course, these are merely suggestions, and could even just serve as inspiration! A vintage find, a thrifted treasure, or a beloved dress from your own closet can be just as perfect. Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident and radiant!

Cotton & Linen Backless Long Dress

I own this dress and it’s so beautiful in person. Perfect for photos because it’s simple and timeless and a neutral color. But it can also be worn for so many other occasions: dressed up or down.

Oasis Midi Dress

Another dress that can be used for different occasions but is great for photos because of the details. It comes in so many gorgeous colors but Chocolate Fondant, Tuscany and Auburn are my favorites!

Extratropical Maxi Dress

This dress is so feminine, flowy and every single color it comes in would be gorgeous for photos.

Dahlia Embroidered Maxi Dress

I feel like this dress is very popular for photo shoots, but for good reasons. It comes in beautiful colors (the Dusted Military Combo being my favorite), it has great movement, a subtle print, is really trendy right now, and is good for just about any season.

New in Town Midi

Buttons add great detail and the texture creates beautiful depth. This dress has a casual feel but not overly “cottage core” like many trendy dresses right now. Any of the colors would be lovely!

Smocked Eyelet Strapless Maxi Dress

Classic, white, smocked eyelet dress. Really you can’t go wrong with this style. This one is obviously white but a version of this dress can be found all over in so many colors!

Another example in a rust color

Seamed Dress in Stretch Linen

To me this is the perfect dress for an adventure shoot. It’s minimalist so it’s not too out of place on a mountaintop or wading into a lake, but it’s still beautiful and ethereal enough to elevate your look. And the Rose Dusk color is possibly my favorite color on this entire list!

Sweet Nothings Midi Dress

I swear I do like some color! All the prints of this dress are so cute and I think they’d photograph well. So if some more intricate colors and prints are more your style then this is a fun option!

All You Need is Lace Midi

Another feminine flowy option with gorgeous detail. I low a back cut out and a bow and this dress has both!

Faye Sweater Midi

The perfect winter or fall option. It’s hard to wear a dress in the colder months but this allows you to wear a dress, but also layer underneath to stay warm .It’s giving cozy vibes that can be styled so many ways.

Striped Pleated Cami Long Dress

I love how chic this dress is while also being casual. The stripes are also brown instead of black or blue and I feel like that makes this dress a little more unique and fitting to my editing style!

Twist Front Maxi Dress

A wonderful modest option. I like the Brown Gingham color but the Green is cute too.

Ruffled Mini Dress

This soft pink is perfect and it’s 100% cotton! It also has pockets! Yet another dress that is beautiful for photos but you’ll also use it for every day wear!

Emerson Off the Shoulder Skort

This one had me at “Skort” but it just also happens to come in this perfect Cream Stripe print. Plus it comes in petite, regular and tall. Not to mention it’s quite affordable!

Cotton & Linen Asymmetrical Neck Dress

The color on this is stunning. And this is an option that brings a little more glam while also managing to blend well with the earthy aesthetic of my style of photography.

Aida Maxi

This dress stands out to me because of the texture. It’s a simple dress but the texture will add so much depth to the photos.

SER.O.YA Almada Sweater Dress

A definite splurge but I can’t get over this color and how great this would be for Fall or even for a cool summer evening.

The A&F Mara High-Neck Vest Midi Dress

I love the buttons on this. It’s trendy but also something I don’t think you’d regret seeing in your photos 15 years from now! The black is my favorite but you can’t really go wrong with either of the other denim choices.

Ruffle it Up Midi

This dress checks a lot of boxes for me. Feminine details with the ruffles, while not being too over powering, a flattering neckline, lovely silhouette and length, and 100% cotton! I also love all the colors with Peach and Brownie being my favorites!

Alexa Linen Maxi Shirt Dress

For my color lovers! Cold and bright! But also not too bright! This is a splurge but truly beautiful and would look so beautiful in the summer!

Contrasting Midi Dress

I love this color. And this dress looks like it would have so much beautiful movement and draping in photos. And it’s incredibly affordable!

Loverly Grey x Anthropologie: The Somerset Mini Dress

The perfect floral, if you ask me. And I think this dress is a great balance of trendy and modern.

Cut-out Backless Long Sleeve Dress

Perfect for Fall or Spring! I could see this sweatshirt dress on a trail with hiking boots. This is such a great choice for someone who doesn’t want to go wildly feminine but does want to jazz it up a bit.

Reformation Emerick Sleeveless Midi Dress

Another dress you’ll wear time and time again so treat yourself to this one. I’m obsessed with the dainty floral print that is in all the right colors!

Levanzo Tied Shoulder Short Dress

How cute is this dress! So simple but with the most subtle details to spice it up. Another one you’ll wear over and over again after your photo shoot. And bonus: NATURAL FIBERS!

Satin Effect Midi Dress

Yellow? Satin? Why not! Yellow photographs so beautifully, especially in the summer. This is a sexy, flirty option that would look great on so many body types.

Here’s a link to a similar dress in a different color!

The Utility Coverall in Linen

Not a dress, I realize, but I’m a sucker for jumpsuits! And this one is so minimalist and every single color it comes in would be *chef’s kiss*!
